Is Man his own worst enemy?

As depressing as the title of this blog sounds, one must bear in mind that this came into being before Hollywood decided to produce a movie of the same title for laughs. While laughter may be good medicine for those who are ill or suffering from any form of maladies, you dear reader should consider the fact that life and living in today's world is no laughing matter.
One thing that we all, or at least most of us take for granted, is Water. In the Movie "A Quantum of Solace', the hero James Bond was up against villains that had every intention of hi-jacking the world's water supply. Indeed we tend to ignore the need for water because of it's seeming abundance on the planet, after all, almost two thirds of the planets surface is under water, both salt and fresh water.
Ever since the beginning of the industrial age, leading up to today's high technology age, we [ mankind as a whole ] have been poisoning our habitat more and more in the name of progress. Now please do not misconstrue what I am trying to put forth here, I for one, have no desire to run around in loin cloth trying to find a cave to dwell in or to knock some woman upside her head and drag her kicking and screaming back to the cave. there are some definite benefits to progress, however we should not be going three steps forward and two steps backward.
When you take a bath or shower is the water from your shower head or the spigot in your kitchen really clean? Just how safe is the drinking water from the tap in your home really is? And for women who are pregnant and brushing their teeth with fluoridated toothpaste, are you aware that drinking fluoridated water is responsible for over a hundred thousand cases of miscarriages?
Of course you certainly don't have to believe me, just read the books 'Silent Springs' and 'Poisoned Profits - the Toxic Assault On Our Children', and you will be amazed at how much man is hellbent on destroying himself and every living thing on this planet that can support human life. face it , everything that we use at home or in the office has chemicals that in some cases are not very bio-degradable, Indeed some juices like apple juice have arsenic added to the ingredients, now why would a substance that is a known carcinogen and poison be added to juices or even our water supply?, and in some cases we are even told that we can tolerate  limited amounts of these poisons in our systems/bodies on a daily basis as long as we don't fall over dead immediately upon ingesting these ingredients.
There is the old saying "we have met the enemy and he is us". No other species on the face of the globe is as destructive to his environs as man.Man instead of working within nature to construct his living habitats, directly builds up his edifices to fight nature and thus destroys the very areas that can sustain his life. Mans wisdom is now turning out to be foolishness.
The proliferation of Nuclear power plants all across the globe is nothing short of having dynamite planted in strategic places with long burning fuses lit. when the fuses reach the detonation point, [wear and tear of these nuclear facilities, along with old age-which will make their further use untenable], these plants which do not produce anything bio degradable, and their waste is used only for the purposes of war, will explode with dire consequences to the residents of this planet.                                                                                                        To be continued, in the meanwhile till then live well, be happy, make love, we Bid you Peace.

The Beginning of The End

Imagine.Pay close attention to this word. Imagery and the use of the imagination are traits that belong exclusively to us humans as a part of the power that God gave to us. In the beginning, as per Genesis chap 1 vs 26-27, we read "And God said, let us make make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the Image of God created he him; male and female created he them."
Notice that we were created in the [a]image and [b] likeness of God. The use of our imagination has been the source of all our inventions, sustained life throughout all manner of catastrophes, inspired countless songs of love, started wars, and has been the source of countless deeds of both good and evil.
Three very important questions have not been answered by the "preachers and pastors of today's churches; however, they certainly are not to be blamed, you see, most people attend places of worship for  two basic reasons, 1] to worship the Lord, and 2] to ease their sense of guilt at whatever pleasures they may have had during the week, of which they hold themselves guilty and wish to assuage their consciences.
These three questions are for the realm of scholars and those who are inquisitively seeking God and the answers to what is written in the books of the Bible. [Bible is the ancient Greek plural for books]- hence the word bible for the compilation of books which comprise the Bible.
Question 1] Who is us and our that God was speaking to when he said "Let us make man in our image and likeness"? It would seem as if a group of Highly intelligent beings [similar to our modern scientist's] gathered together at the inception of our world/planet to create man in their likeness[to be alike] and image to look like and be similar to - these are they that would be called the 'Elohim' in Hebrew 'Ah-la-ha-yam'. Question 2] leads also to the tie in with question 1 in that last part of vs 27 "created he them".
This would make it clear that there were others on this planet before Adam was made since he created 'them'. And the third is this,Since "male and female created he them' should not women be considered equal to men and not subservient, since they too, also have access and use of the powers of imagination? of course the programming of mankind from birth has always taken a long and arduous path towards change in thinking, sometimes to involving the death of the forward thinker. Yes, science and the belief in God can come together, when those that are considered the leaders of the scientific community and those  in charge of the secular world [those who do the issuing of ordaining ministers recognized by society] come together and admit that both subjects are definitely not far apart. To be continued, until then, live well, be happy, make love, we bid you Peace.
